Item Description:Product Overview:
Up for sale is an exquisite Antique Royal Crown Kinran Nippon Porcelain Coffee Pot (frequently collected as a chocolate pot). This authentic early 20th-century piece showcases the finest traditions of Japanese export porcelain from the historic Nippon era.
Design & Craftsmanship:
The pot features a timeless, elegant body shape with a beautifully flared base and a slender neck. It is meticulously hand-painted with vibrant, soft pink roses and delicate green foliage. The upper rim and lid are detailed with repeating vertical panels in an elegant sky-blue hue, all framed by fine gold gilt borders and trim accenting the handle.
Maker's Mark & Authenticity:
The base features the authentic stamped green Royal Crown Kinran backstamp, which includes the circular "Hand Painted Nippon" text wrapped around a central crown and star insignia. This specific McKinley Tariff-era export mark safely dates the production of this piece between 1911 and 1921. The underside also features a distinct, clean, molded ceramic star localized to the bottom center.
Condition Report:
This antique pot is in beautiful condition for its age, with no chips, cracks, or hairline fractures. The hand-painted floral pattern remains vibrant and intact. The gold gilt shows only light, minor wear consistent with age and handling. There are a few tiny, minor black kiln specks/manufacturing dots in the glaze (common for Nippon porcelain of this era), which are authentic to its original factory production. Please see photos for a close-up look at the overall condition.
