For your consideration is a striking, matching pair of vintage Chinese export porcelain candlesticks, beautifully decorated in the traditional Japanese Satsuma style. Dating to the late 20th century, these pieces feature an incredibly vibrant and textured aesthetic that perfectly captures the maximalist charm of classic export ware.
The design is heavily accented with intricate, raised moriage beadwork in an eye-catching teal and white palette, giving the bases and upper necks a rich, tactile dimension. The central columns showcase a detailed, hand-painted dragon wrapped around the stem, framed by bright coral-red rims and brilliant gilded borders. The hexagonal bases feature distinct panels depicting traditional floral and scenic motifs.
Both candlesticks bear the vintage "Sesame / Made in China" export stamp on the underside.
They are in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The delicate raised slip decoration and gold detailing remain remarkably intact, showing only minimal, expected shelf wear on the unglazed bottom rims. A gorgeous, ready-to-display pair that adds a sophisticated pop of color and texture to any mantle, sideboard, or eclectic tablescape.
