Maker & Origin
The reverse of the piece is clearly stamped with the stylized MAYA MEXICO hallmark. The Maya workshops were prominent in the mid-20th century, celebrated for their unique artisan approach, heavy geometric stylings, and high-contrast mixed metal combinations.

Design: Round shields or calendar-style disc featuring applied brass geometric wire work, scroll accents, and five articulated fringe dangles

Materials: Mixed metals featuring a rich copper base, brass overlay elements, and dark intentional patination to give the piece depth

Accents: Five round, banded green malachite glass or stone beads transitioning to stamped copper/brass paddle drops that create beautiful movement. A matching green cabochon sits directly at the center of the shield.

Dual-Function Hardware:
Features both a horizontal rollover safety pin mechanism and an integrated top bale, allowing it to be worn seamlessly as either a brooch pin or a necklace pendant

Hallmarks: Stamped with the authentic, round MAYA MEXICO maker's mark on the back of the shield

Excellent vintage condition. The original mixed-metal patina is beautifully preserved with no harsh polishing. All five dangles and green beads are structurally sound and intact. The pin mechanism is straight, and the rollover clasp catches securely. Please see photos for exact cosmetic condition.
